LTL Carriers
Less-than-truckload (LTL) carriers have a special optimization model within Routyn.
This optimization model is based on a hub-and-spoke configuration. The hub-and-spoke network can be draw in Routyn by defining the hubs location and the areas of influence of each hub.
Routyn allows the creation of a multi-hub network and the optimization of multiple flows along multiple days. For example, a carrier can plan the pickup routes for collecting items into a hub (automatically chosen by Routyn based on its influence area and capacity), then the transshipment of items between hubs and finally the delivery of such items to the final addresses.
All these multiple optimization flows may occur in different times of the day (or days) and can be run continuously.
